This month, Silvia Rojas of the Costa Rican Electric Mobility Association (Asociación Costarricense de Movilidad Eléctrica, ASOMOVE) will be joining us to answer all our questions regarding sustainable mobility and the use of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Costa Rica.
During this event, we will discuss the following topics:
- Pros and Cons of EVs in this market and global markets in general. Considerations, challenges, benefits, future (a lot of manufacturers are ramping down on investment in EVs, why?), future of Hydrogen?
- Dispelling Myths about EVs. Realities of modern EVs and adaptation of them in Costa Rica. What is the charging infrastructure for EVs like in Costa Rica versus other countries? “Will the battery give out after just 5 or 10 years?” “Where are all these non-renewable batteries with lithium and cobalt going to go?” “What’s the charging infrastructure like? Will I get stranded in Costa Rica between being able to charge?” “How does this compare to running on biodiesel (recycled fryer oil) or solar or an experimental car in China that runs on water?” “Why electric and not go for a hybrid?”
- Should we really be focusing on EVs? Why don’t we have a green public transportation system in Costa Rica? What about a focus on improving the bus lines and light rail to help public transit in the GAM?
Entrance cost:
