James Theologos, a native New Yorker, studied at Pratt Institute and the Art Students League. He was a professional photographer for 15 years, traveling on assignment around the world. One assignment was in Costa Rica, and in 1973 he and his wife Angie moved here. His true love was painting and the career change was successful with exhibitions in the U.S.A., France, Belgium, Puerto Rico, and extensively in Costa Rica. He has exhibited here in many museums, and other places including the National Museum, the American Cultural Center, and last October in the Country Club of Costa Rica.
He found that he loved teaching art and has done so in his home studio for over 40 years. He also teaches at Vertis University.
