Michale has shared her finely-honed professional storytelling, keynoting, and fundraising skills around the world for over 30 years. She helps educators, students, community leaders, charities and corporations discover compelling ways to raise funds, inspire students, engage employees, build collaborative teams, and develop authentic integral leadership through her company, Story by Design. www.storybydesign.net.
Currently a consultant to The Boeing Company, Michale coaches executives, senior leaders and teams on how to communicate for results and designs/consults on several leadership programs. Over 2,800 Boeing leaders have participated in her transformational Story by Design® workshops.
Michale founded the groundbreaking Storytelling Residency Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital. In the 80’s she founded Storytell International, directing its programs including Young Storytellers for Peace which was the subject of an award-winning Public Television (PBS) documentary.
Michale is a Parent’s Choice Award winning recording artist, published author and a Rotary International Foundation Paul Harris Fellow, granted for her humanitarian service to children and women in the US, Uganda, the former Soviet Union and Iraq.
Michale earned a BA in Speech/Drama from Calvin, MLS from the University of Michigan, and completed post-graduate work in spiritual psychology.
Michale moved to Costa Rica 3 years ago from Washington State to pursue her dream of building international community. She has served on the Women’s Club of Costa Rica (WCCR) Board and Advisory for 2 years, is Chair of Interest Groups and helped double the contributions to the Schoolbooks for Kids Program in just one year. She will serve as the President of WCCR in 2016.
