In this talk, we will have a space to learn about the principles of nonviolent communication: self-empathy, empathy towards others, and the honest expression of our feelings and needs. We will also get to know its components: Observation of the facts, identification of feelings, expression of needs and formulation of a request. We will learn that non-violent communication authentically connects us with the other person, generating more trust in the relationship.

The objective of this event is to raise awareness of the importance of establishing authentic communication in our relationships, introduce Nonviolent Communication and offer a short experience to the participants.

About The Speaker

Daniela Carvalho

Daniela Carvalho is a conflict mediator with international experience. She is dedicated to promoting self-knowledge and social transformation through the creation, support, and maintenance of communities. She is an advisor to the Earth Charter in Brazil and a facilitator of the Earth Charter Center for Education for Sustainable Development, Costa Rica. Furthermore, she is a doctoral student in Education with an emphasis on Pedagogical Mediation, Master in Conflict Resolution, Peace, and Development from the University for Peace (Established by the UN).
