January 2025 Event Recap
PWNCR kicked off 2025 with an empowering goal-setting seminar led by Sara Basloe on the 18th of January. Her presentation, “The Momentum Manifesto: Seven Strategic Steps for a Transformative 2025,” equipped attendees with practical tools for reflection and strategic planning. The interactive session focused on gaining clarity through past achievements, building conviction, igniting passion for ambitious goals, and creating actionable GPS (Goals, Purpose, Strategy) plans.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Sara Basloe, Master Result and Mental Fitness Coach, who not only shared her 20+ years of expertise but also demonstrated her generosity by donating her Speaker’s Luncheon and becoming a Premium Member. This additional support truly exemplifies the collaborative spirit of our community.
Sara’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs through her work as a Certified Master Elite Peak Performance Coach with Tony Robbins has made this session particularly valuable for our members starting their 2025 journey. Thank you, Sara!
Learn ways to use spices to improve your health while delighting your taste buds with Regenerative Organic Farmer Geri Brown.
Geri, together with her husband Rob, has been farming trees and spices in the northern central zone for more than 15 years at their farm Cinco Ramas. Over those years they have taught other aspiring farmers and gardeners the latest and ancient techniques used in regenerative and organic farming, post-harvest processes to ensure the highest quality spices and of course, how spices can be used as medicine.
Geri will share a variety of fresh spices to smell and taste while discussing how each can be used to heal.
Join us and learn more about how Thai Ginger, Lemongrass, Hibiscus, and the 3 queens, Ginger, Turmeric and Black Pepper, can be use not only to bring more joy into meals and drinks but to heal a variety of health conditions.
A New Chapter for PWNCR: Strategic Planning Update
Our President, Muni Figueres Facio, graciously hosted our recent 2025 Strategy meeting at her beautiful home, where the Leadership Team gathered surrounded by nature’s tranquillity to map out PWNCR‘s future.
Two key decisions emerged from our thoughtful discussions:
First, we’re deepening our commitment to professional development. In the coming months, you’ll notice exciting changes to our event format and programming, all designed to enhance your growth opportunities.
Second, and most importantly, we want to hear from you! We immediately launched a comprehensive engagement and interest survey to understand what matters most to our community – from preferred event topics and timing to the professional development opportunities you’re seeking. Your input will be invaluable in shaping PWNCR‘s future. Stay tuned for more details about how you can contribute to this important conversation.
Katya De Luisa arrived in Costa Rica in 1980 with two small children, four bags and $900. She is considered to be one of the country’s early pioneers in Eco-tourism and her work with street children was modeled by PANI, the child welfare. She has been a dementia educator 25 years, and an artist/writer and author of Journey through the Infinite Mind, the Science and Spirituality of Dementia. Katya works voluntarily providing free dementia information talks to local Costa Rican rural communities helping families to understand their loved ones with dementia. Her presentations to expat clubs, groups and events feature aging and memory decline and how to improve memory, slow cognitive loss and prevent dementia.
Her newest enterprise, starting in February, is online Neuro-Art classes, which exercise your brain, improve cognitive function, alleviate stress and increase emotional well-being. Neuro-Art techniques need no prior art experience, they are effortless and designed to quiet your thoughts and experience the same benefits as meditation while activating the brain through creating something fun and beautiful.
