NETWORK UPDATE

Dear PWNCR Members and Friends,

We have started the year off with a bang and lots of amazing in person events! In February we had the pleasure of hearing Michale Gabriel talk to us about Getting to the Heart of My Why. Michale’s workshop was engaging and impactful and left us all mulling over our own personal stories.

In March, we will open our doors for this year’s PWNCR Open House. Please continue reading for all the details.

This event is the perfect time to re-engage and introduce current members to prospective members, and to introduce the PWNCR and all it has to offer women business professionals. Learn about how the PWNCR is supporting the women in our network, how we support the local community, and how you can get involved in committees or our Leadership Team.

Improve your English as an added bonus! Improve your friendships as an added bonus. Begin networking your way to success. Success is not necessarily all about WHAT you know, but about WHO you know.

Entrance cost: Free!

Non-members, you can become a member at this event!

Notes: If you are driving, you can park at the Parqueo Musical – they have good rates and if you eat at Tin Jo you will also get a discount. This Waze point will take you right to the Parqueo Musical.

After the event, you will have the option to stay for lunch at Tin Jo Asian Restaurant; we will have menus available during the event so that you can pre-order your food.

Featured Member Profile: Tricia Minnett

Hello everyone! My name is Tricia and I am the owner of a new business in San Jose, the Coffee Cat Cafe. It is a cat cafe specializing in locally-sourced products and food along with adoptable cats coming from different parts of Costa Rica.

In my past life (before Costa Rica) I was a Marriage and Family Therapist who worked with inmates in the prison system. I really enjoyed my job of helping people and their families, but my true passion has always been rescuing animals.

I have been involved with animal welfare since I was a child and felt that my calling in life was to help as many animals and people as possible. I often would combine these two passions by coordinating animal therapy for my clients as I have seen the incredible outcomes this can have. The transformation in rescued animals being rehabilitated by people with their own struggles and abuse was profound. So, as a result, I have always found ways to bring together animals and people in need of each other.

From this dream and experiences came the idea to open the first Cat Cafe in Costa Rica. I wanted to help all the stray cats while also connecting people in a safe and comfortable space. At the Cat Cafe, people just seem to relax, connect with others, each other and these amazing cats that too are on their own healing paths.

In an effort to have a larger impact, we also source our food, coffee and merchandise from local vendors who are doing their part to support environmental causes and leading the way in helping the world. For example, our coffee is roasted weekly by a small business who supports local coffee farmers learning how to plant sustainably and nourish the soil so as to not deplete resources. Several of our vendors and Cat Cafe donate a percentage of profits to castration clinics around Costa Rica for both dogs and cats.

The Cafe is a small business, but I am hoping with time it will have an exponential impact and can show how one person (business) can make a difference in the world. I hope everyone can come by some time, grab a coffee or pastry and maybe meet the next great love of your life!

You can visit the Coffee Cat Café at City Place in Santa Ana or find out more about it here:  https://coffeecatcr.com/
