JUNE 2023 UPDATE
This month we had not one but two awesome events. First we had a Zoom event with Katya De Luisa who, once again, shared her extensive knowledge about dementia with us. If you missed it, be sure to watch it on our Youtube Channel. Our traditional monthly in-person event this month featured Anabelle Duran who brought us up to date with the latest marketing trends and even introduced us to Chat GPT. As an active paying member of the PWNCR you can access the recording of the event with Anabelle; please email us if you do not have that link and would like it!

PWNCR Member Feature: Geri Brown
PWNCR member Geri Brown and her husband decided to take the plunge and move to Costa Rica in 2007, young dreamers hoping to make the world a better place and work in something they valued more than a simple paycheck. They were driven to do something that “mattered” and intended to slow down to the “pura vida” pace!
Their mission started by planting trees. Geri’s husband, Rob, is a dreamer and an obsessed horticulturist, while Geri considers herself a type A finisher and a devoted health and nutrition disciple. Over time, their mutual love for nature, combined with their desire to make an impact, evolved from tree planting into collecting interesting native trees and eatable plants and then into superfoods and spices, accompanied by building an incredible network of inspiring people with all different experiences and interests. They have also added organic spices to their business model. It fit just right into their mission of helping both people and nature. And over time, they have been able to use their experiences as tools in a variety of pathways to educate and inspire others on how to take better care of themselves and the earth.
Their little organic spice farm, Cinco Ramas, has become a well-known example for other regenerative and permaculture farmers, spice and medicinal plant growers, and food and environmental enthusiasts. But they are not done yet! Geri and Rob continue to evolve professionally, in their personal interests and knowledge, and are continually looking for ways to continue to expand their mission. Their latest phase includes workshops. They have partnered with some amazing and inspiring professionals to offer workshops for people to learn more in a 2- or 3-hour farm visit. Their next workshops will focus on Women’s Health and Digestion from an Ayurveda perspective with beloved practitioner Karlijn van der Burg at the end of August – more details can be found here: https://www.ayurvedicspice.
These workshops will be followed by many more with topics by herbalists and chefs, while they work to expand to longer workshops and retreats on topics such as regenerative farming, permaculture, syntropic farming and more cooking and health topics.
